Sad Bananas? Make Nice Cream!

Updated: Nov 28, 2020

"Nice cream" may not be new, but it's still pretty amazing what a banana can do. Here's a dessert you can be proud to have for breakfast! So get those sad bananas and let's make this 1-ingredient wonder!

Recipe

Ingredients:

At least 2 overripe and spotty bananas

Optional: nutella, cherry, and a cone!

Steps:

1.  Peel and slice up the bananas. Put them in an air-tight container and pop them in the freezer. (You'll need at least two, but you can keep adding bananas to this container as they ripen.) Store the frozen bananas in the freezer until you're ready to make the nice cream.

2. Blend the frozen bananas in a food processor or blender. Depending on your food processor and how hard the bananas are, you shouldn't need to add any liquid. Just intermittently stop blending, stir up the frozen chunks, and then keep processing until you get a smooth, soft-serve like consistency. If you are having trouble blending the banana, feel free to add just a few splashes of milk/nut milk to make blending just a bit easier.

3. Serve immediately or put the banana nice cream into the freezer for a while to get a harder consistency.

Fun add-ins: Swirl in a few spoons of nutella, peanut butter, or chopped nuts for additional flavor.
